1. Introduction

Handby LTD ("we", "us", "our") operates VerseAir, an AI-powered Bible verse projection application for churches and religious organizations. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use VerseAir and visit our website at getverseair.com.

By using VerseAir, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Information We Collect

We collect a limited amount of information necessary to provide and improve our service:

  • License and account information: When you purchase a subscription plan, we collect your email address and generate a license key associated with your account. This information is used to activate and manage your VerseAir license.
  • Usage analytics: We collect anonymized session data and feature usage statistics. This data does not include personal content such as sermon text, verse selections, or any information entered into the application. Analytics are used solely to understand which features are most valuable and to guide product improvements.
  • Speech audio: VerseAir processes speech audio in real time for the purpose of Bible verse detection. Audio is streamed to a speech recognition service for processing and is not stored, recorded, or retained by VerseAir or Handby LTD after processing is complete.
  • Payment information: Payments are handled entirely by our third-party payment processor. We do not receive, process, or store your credit card number, bank account details, or other financial information on our servers.

3. Information We Don't Collect

We believe in collecting only what is necessary. The following information is never collected, transmitted, or stored by Handby LTD:

  • Sermon content or transcripts: Speech-to-text processing is used exclusively for verse detection. We do not generate, store, or transmit sermon transcripts.
  • Congregation companion data: The companion web app operates entirely over your local network. Companion sessions, interactions, and any data viewed by congregation members stays within your building and is never sent to our servers.
  • Verse browsing history: Your verse search history, bookmarks, and recently viewed passages are stored locally on your device only.
  • Personal notes: Any notes, bookmarks, or annotations made by companion app users remain on their device for the duration of their session and are not transmitted externally.

4. How We Use Your Information

The information we collect is used for the following purposes:

  • License activation and management: Your email and license key are used to activate VerseAir, verify your subscription tier, and manage your account.
  • Customer support: If you contact us for help, we use your account information to assist you and resolve issues.
  • Product improvement: Anonymized usage analytics help us understand how VerseAir is used, identify areas for improvement, and prioritize new features. No personally identifiable information is included in analytics data.
  • Product communications: We may send important product updates, security notices, or service announcements to your registered email. You can opt out of non-essential communications at any time.

5. Local Processing

VerseAir is designed to run locally on your computer. The desktop application operates independently and does not require a persistent internet connection for core functionality once Bible translations have been cached.

The companion web app operates over your local Wi-Fi network. Congregation members connect by scanning a QR code and interact with the app entirely within your local network. No companion data is routed through external servers, and no congregation information ever leaves your building.

6. Third-Party Services

VerseAir integrates with third-party services to provide speech recognition and AI-powered features such as sermon summaries and cross-references. When these features are used:

  • Audio and text data are sent to the respective service providers for real-time processing.
  • Data is processed in real time and is not stored by these services beyond the duration of the processing session.
  • We select service providers that maintain strong privacy and security standards.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.

7. Data Security

We take the security of your data seriously and implement appropriate measures to protect it:

  • Encryption in transit: All communications between VerseAir and our servers use TLS encryption.
  • Secure API key storage: API keys and sensitive credentials are stored securely in the Electron app's userData directory, isolated from other applications.
  • Industry practices: We follow industry-standard security practices for our servers, databases, and infrastructure.

While we strive to protect your information, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security but are committed to maintaining robust protections.

8. Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access: You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction: You can request that we correct any inaccurate personal data.
  • Deletion: You can request that we delete your personal data. Upon deletion, your license will be deactivated.
  • Data portability: You can request your data in a structured, commonly used format.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@getverseair.com. We will respond to your request within 30 days.

9. Children's Privacy

VerseAir is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information promptly. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@getverseair.com.
